POSITION SUMMARY

The core function of this role is to define and advance the Japan product portfolio. Drive the Japan product strategy by identifying and harmonizing existing global product capabilities and ensuring the product set to be aligned with the requirements of our global and local customer-base. 
The role will work closely with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, building and managing relationships as well as project roadmaps. A strong understanding of product lifecycle management in a dynamic environment is crucial to your success. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the management of the full lifecycle of product suite: Be responsible for all aspects of planning, defining, creating, launching, improving, and refining products and services, to ensure that we have an appropriate product strategy 
  • Drive regional and local product strategy to meet the requirement of our local customers while staying aligned with the global product roadmap to meet the requirements of our multi-national customers 
  • Product harmonization – Develop a consistent product set by identifying common product features across the regional footprint 
  • Develop product forecasts, value-based pricing frameworks and operational models 
  • Ownership of cost models by product and creation of business cases for new product launches with Asset Management & Commercial Management 
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive efficiency improvements across the business and increase revenues 
  • Sales enablement: Ensure that the sales team has the appropriate sales training required to position the product set on the market as well as the backend process to support the services 
  • Regular review of the “Sell” & “Build + Bill” process to optimize the processes to reduce the lead time for Quotes / Contracts / Implementation and improve customer experience/engagement 
  • Support Sales and Asset Management/Commercial Management on pre-sales pricing / advising product inventory / contracting process including review on product pricing / standard and support for quoting on system 
  • Budget/Cost management for each product including payment review and verification of product related settlement among product partners 
  • Work closely with Marketing team to maintain up to date knowledge of competitive landscape in Japan, market trends and product/sales collateral 
  • Work closely with Network Infrastructure team to support getting Network Service Providers into MCDR DC with developing products for Network Service Providers 

 

REQUIREMENTS

To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university and 7+ Years of product management experience are essential. In lieu of a BA/BS degree, must have ten (10) or more year’s related experience. Experience in IT industry is preferred. 
  • In depth understanding of the Data Center Colocation and Interconnection Products and Market 
  • Strong English and Japanese communication skill is required in order to effectively convey corporate offerings and value propositions in a clear manner through verbal and written means. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong product management and business acumen 
  • Strong system-thinking skills, with the ability to develop process and flow charts 
  •  
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities 
  • Excellent leadership and people skills to interact with customers, colleagues and cross-functional teams 
  • Understanding of Datacenter Financials and ability to interpret financial metrics like ROI, ROIC, EBITDA and Gross/Net Margins very fluently 
  • Demonstrated experience being a collaborative team-player 
  • Proficiency in major Microsoft Office Applications and advanced knowledge of Excel.
